GO FOR IT!

Have the daring to accept yourself as a bundle of possibilities and undertake the game of making the most of your best. -Henry Emerson Fosdick-

What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.
- Ralph Waldo Emerson-

Let nothing hold you back from exploring your wildest fantasies, wishes, and aspirations. Don't be afraid to follow your dreams wherever they lead you. Open your eyes to their beauty; open your mind to their magic; open your heart to their possibilities. Only by dreaming will you ever discover who you are, what you want, and what you can do. Don't be afraid to take risks, to become involved, to make a commitment. Do whatever it takes to make your dreams come true.

Cathy - Tahoe Double Dare - 144 Miles

Cathy is running the Tahoe Double Dare in the loving memory of her daughter Kimi who lost her young life to colon cancer. Kimi was 37 years young when she lost her battle.

The Tahoe Double Dare is running two 72 milers around the lake, each in opposite directions. That's 144 miles!!! Cathy's crew was eager and excited to be a part of this amazing journey. Two times around the beautiful Lake Tahoe lake.

Cathy and the crew getting ready for their night run.

The temperature dropped to the low 30's. It was a beautiful night with a full moon.

I ran into Cathy on day 1 at mile 23. Cathy was finishing up her 1st loop around the lake. Looking good Cathy...Keep going!!! You're a strong and amazing woman!!!

You did it Cathy and Kimi was with you every step of the way! When God picks flowers he picks the most precious and beautiful to bring home...
I am on an endless journey through eternity...

In the infinity of life, all is perfect, whole, and complete. The cycle of life is also perfect, whole, and complete. There is a time of beginning, a time of growth, a time of being, a time of withering or wearing out, and a time of leaving. This is all part of the perfection of life. I sense it as normal and natural, and though saddened at times, I accept the cycle and its rhythms. Sometimes there is an abrupt ending in mid-cycle. I am jarred and feel threatened. Someone dies too soon, or something was smashed and broken. However, I know that life is ever-changing. There is no beginning and no end, only a constant cycling and recycling of substance and experience. Life is never stuck or static or stale, for each moment is ever-new and fresh. Every ending is a new point of beginning.

Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there.
-Will Rogers-

A positive, healthy sense of self-value and worth is the foundation of our happiness and success. When we know who we are and believe it, our greatest dreams are possible. When we doubt ourselves, question our worth, and undermine our self-value, our greatest victory will be worthless. Affirm " I am my greatest hero". That is really where it starts. We must believe in who we are and what we do. We must look up to and trust ourselves to make it through the difficulties knowing that we can. Only we can truly appreciate and celebrate our own success. We are equipped and capable of getting to where we want to be. If we have any doubts, we can always hold our own hand.

Lake Tahoe Triple Day 1 - Marathon # 81

The Lake Tahoe Triple is three different marathons in three days in two states. The triple covers the entire shoreline of the lake over three days. This was my 4th year walking the Lake Tahoe Triple. I finished
6:56:54.

Day 1 started at Emerald Bay. The views of the lake were spectacular! There were challenging hills but the scenery was well worth the climb.

It was a beautiful morning and a little cold, in the low 30's.

Rudy and Mark are running the Tahoe Double Dare. The Tahoe Double Dare is running two 72 milers around the lake, each in opposite directions. Good lucks guys!

JUMP...

Life is like a steam of water and we all occupy different rocks within the stream. Some people occupy pebbles while some occupy boulders. Regardless of the size of the rock we occupy, there are always bigger and better rocks available to all of us. The problem with moving to a bigger and better rock is that it requires a leap of faith. Most people want to occupy a bigger and better rock but they are afraid that if they jump they will fall into the stream of life and drown. The fear of failure paralyzes them. These people do not want to jump unless they are absolutely sure certain that they will land on the desired rock and not drown. So they spend their lives waiting for the perfect no risk conditions to jump, which never comes. What people fail to realize is that God doesn't bless you while you sit on your rock and do nothing. God blesses you after you have taken the leap of faith. He blesses you while you are in the air and makes sure that you land safely.
